Muirwood... and we're making an RPG!

For this week’s recommendation, I am excited to introduce you to Jeff Wheeler and his Muirwood series.

Why Read Muirwood?

Jeff Wheeler's Muirwood series is a masterclass in world-building and character development. It's a tale of a magical world where powerful Mediums protect their people from the unknown.

I’ve mentioned Jeff’s post about why he writes before. Jeff writes about Luke Skywalker facing the Emperor in this Manifesto on Virtue (I just went to see Return of the Jedi again in theaters last weekend, so it especially hits home). Luke’s ultimate sacrifice (and character growth moment) was the perfect culmination in storytelling for the series. Those same themes run strong in Jeff’s stories.

If I wrote a blog post about Why We Publish, it would sound very similar.

And by the way, millions of people have read and loved Jeff’s books.

Jeff + Future House

In fact, Jeff came by the Future House office just a few weeks ago.

We put our heads together and came up with an idea. An idea for a collaboration between Future House and Jeff that we think you’ll love.

It combines all the greatness of his fantasy series with a new touch of class. I can’t say more just yet, but we’ll announce it soon.

So watch for it in the coming weeks.

An RPG — of Course

On another note:

We're thrilled to announce that we're working on an RPG (a role-playing game, for those not in the know) that's sure to delight lovers of fantasy and science fiction alike.

Making video games is what we do: animation, design, story development, engineering, etc (in fact, next week I finally get to announce one of the other games we’ve been working on).

And you know what we love more than anything at Future House Studios? Books with character development! It's in our blood, friends. And that's exactly what we're bringing to the table with the game. We want you to feel invested in your character, like you would with any of the unforgettable heroes and heroines we've published in our books.
