I’ve been busy these past couple of weeks writing quests.
You know- the kind where you have to find the magical key inside the frog’s mouth that will unlock the castle where the great sword is hidden so that you can slay the cyclops?
“So what?” you may say. But what if those quests were real, and they were taking place in your neighborhood, and there was a real sword and a real treasure at the end?
The Treasure is Worth $1000
So far, the treasure is worth $1000. The more people that sign up, the higher that value goes.
I’ve been scouting spots the last several weeks, looking for that perfect place to hide the sword… and with it, $1000 (at least) in coins.
The only way to find it is by completing the quests.
Your Phone is Your Guide
A mobile game will lead you on the quest in real life. Think of it as a treasure hunt experience. We’ve been describing it as Pokémon Go meets the Legend of Zelda.
Our art team came up with this quick clip above, because that’s how this journey starts: when you pull the sword from the stone.
A Private Beta
The treasure hunting app won’t be released to the public. Not yet. We’re making it just for a limited group of people — including you! You’ll have to get on a private beta and download the app before it’s available on the general app store. This gives us a chance to get feedback and ideas from you, our readers, who know a thing or two about fantasy and science fiction adventures.
The More That Sign Up, The Bigger The Treasure
We’ve had an awesome response so far. But there’s still more room on the Beta. So tell a friend, and we’ll keep you updated as the treasure grows. Just a few more weeks until the hunt begins!
Book of the Week
Speaking of urban adventures… Got Luck by Michael Darling is an Amazon Top 100 Bestseller. If you read the description, you’ll see why:
There are ancient beings who are plotting to restore their rule and enslave humanity. All you need to fight back are a few well-placed insults and a whole lot of Luck.
Police-officer-turned-private-investigator, Got Luck, has always been able to handle anything life throws his way. But when a dead-end murder case lands on his desk, he is thrust into a world of danger and mystery unlike anything he’s experienced before.
Shot at, chased by unknown assailants, and attacked by an invisible liondog, Got quickly realizes that there's more to this case (and this world) than meets the eye…
See you in the future,
