There you are, driving through an embattled city with your fellow first responders when you’re rocked by an explosion!
The front half of your vehicle is torn away.
Then a giant robot from another planet tells you that a massive invasion is underway, and he needs your help to stop it. He grants you a legendary artifact that only you can use.
Do you heed his call to adventure?
No? You don’t know who this robot is or his motivations?
What if that robot was Optimus Prime?
Now there’s a sentient being you can trust.
This is Science Fiction.
Sometimes big ideas take the form of books and the written word. In this case, the story unfolds in a 5 minute, thrill-a-second virtual reality experience on a motion-controlled simulator.
And as you can see, character development matters. I won’t heed the call of just any strange robot. But I will if it’s Optimus Prime.
I’ve trusted Prime ever since 1984 when my older brother opened up his box on Christmas morning. His deep, commanding voice told me to roll out, and I obeyed.
That’s a lot of years of story, all packed into an epic battle of juggernauts. Like T Rex vs Triceratops, giant squid vs sperm whale, or Marvel vs DC.
Transformers: Decepticon Invasion
I’ve been waiting for a year and a half to tell you all this. Our team at Future House has been working away in secret the whole time, giggling the whole time to ourselves about the awesome thing our clients D&B, VRStudios, and Dark Slope was about to unleash on the world.
I worked on the second Transformers movie (I have to tell you that story sometime, in an upcoming post), so I was excited to get back to the world of Autobots and Decepticons.
This seriously needs to be written into a whole series of novels.
But for now, google “Dave and Busters” on google maps, and find a location near you. There are nearly 150 of them across the USA. There is bound to be one close.
Last week I laid out a series of hints about the game.
Ken G. guessed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (I want to do that one next!)
Some people on LinkedIn guessed Lego and He-Man.
And Winston Malone guessed Transfomers! So be sure to subscribe to his substack too. He’s a fortune teller.
Here it is!
Enough talk. How about some video? This explains everything:
I’ll go more into the story development, writing process, and game development process in future posts (there’s a lot to cover).
Then we’ll talk about how this game dev process is surprisingly similar to writing a book. Except that you’re doing it with 30 of your closest friends.
The ride is rockin’. It feels like you’re on a roller coaster.
I think you’re going to love it. I’d love to hear what you think.
See you in the future.

And Another Thing…
Sword of the Week: Finn the Human’s Grass Sword from Adventure Time.
Later that night, Finn stows the sword in a box before going to sleep. He dreams that he is standing in a grassy field; a sword appears out of the grass, dissolves into grass, and reappears in his hand. But soon, the grass spreads to the rest of Finn's body, and he too dissolves in the wind. He awakens to find that the sword has somehow made its way into his sleeping bag, and is now wrapping itself around Finn's right arm.
Book Recommendation: One Man Falls, a story in the Dawn of Procyon Universe. It’s free for the moment on Kindle! So grab it in the next 2 days.

This ride looks so epic! I can’t wait to try it next time I’m at D&B and share the story behind it with my friends. Way to go, Adam! And thanks for the shoutout 😁
