The books in the Ender’s game series after the first (Speaker for the Dead is #2) have an AI character named Jane who is constantly talking to Ender through an earpiece and is central to the plot. And the Hyperion series by Dan Simmons seriously explores advanced AI in the distant future where humanity has settled many worlds. The AI stuff also starts in the second book of the series, strangely. Two great views on AI though!
I will always love the Dune series. I have a bit of a difficult time getting into fantasy and am not much for blood, guts, and gore. I'm old though, LOL!
Even without the moral scolding, actually writing worlds and characters and plots aren't really an AI's jam. Where they are much more likely to come into their own for helping with storytelling is the background research, continuity checks, keeping track of branching storylines, providing fresh perspective on plot ideas.
Cortana in the Halo series (not originally a book, but is now) is a very interesting AI with a clear set of rules that she uses to serve Master Chief, even sometimes at the expense of not serving her creators. And the whole challenge she had when attached to the evil flood hivemind that tried to convert her against humanity... Very interesting example of balancing competing guidance.

Josh, I really liked Jane the AI in Speaker for the Dead. All that subvocalizing! I’ll look at the Hyperion Series now. Thanks for the recommendation.
Why don't you try DAN? Not as a book recommendation, but as a less ethical version of ChatGPT. Maybe you'll get your chapter :)

I think I will! Thanks for the tip.

Dune is such a shining example of culture-building. I loved it.

Well, I already like you, Isaac Asimov, best author in the world as far as science fiction and robots ever
